A SMALL PURCHASE DISPUTE
Cat wif Receipt
He kept the paper. The order remains unexplained.
COUNTER, 9:17
The First Total
At 9:17, the cat appeared beside the returns counter wearing a receipt long enough to list weather, batteries, six identical spoons, and something described only as “premium fog.” The clerk asked for the original payment method. The cat narrowed both eyes, sat on the scanner, and produced no wallet. The paper kept printing.
KITCHEN, LATER
Pantry Audit
Back home, every cupboard was full, yet none of the printed items had ever been invited.

Errand Evidence
The trail leaves the store and becomes domestic. A pantry contains fourteen cans with identical labels. An aisle repeats the same shelf forever. At the last bus, the receipt reaches the curb before the cat does. Each stop confirms a purchase. None produces a memory. The cat waits anyway, certain the total belongs elsewhere.
Keep the receipt. Forget the order.
